Who the ADL serves

Serving Eastern NC with Healthcare Education Services

At Eastern AHEC, we understand that eastern NC’s healthcare needs are different than those of other regions. That’s why we tailor our healthcare education services to our local community. Whether our programs are used by aspiring doctors or experienced physicians, we hope to provide our service area of Greenville, NC and beyond with relevant, helpful resources, with an end goal of strengthening healthcare throughout the region.

Eastern AHEC serves the following NC counties with healthcare education:

Beaufort, Bertie, Camden, Carteret, Chowan, Craven, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Greene, Hertford, Hyde, Jones, Lenoir, Martin, Onslow, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Pitt, Tyrrell, Washington, Wayne

In addition to these 23 counties, Eastern AHEC collaborates with Area L AHEC to provide Mental Health Continuing Professional Development for Edgecombe, Halifax, Nash, Northampton, and Wilson counties.

What is MedlinePlus Connect?

MedlinePlus Connect is a free service that allows health organizations and IT providers to link patient portals and electronic health record (EHR) systems to information from MedlinePlus, the NLM website for consumer health information.

MedlinePlus Connect provides information on diseases and conditions, prescription and over-the-counter medications, and medical tests. MedlinePlus Connect also returns relevant information from other parts of NIH, including the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the National Institute on Aging (NIA), and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDKD).
