The most current template/blueprint for the NC AHEC Statewide LibGuides can be found at the link below. You can also search for it in the "Guides" section.
Fewer words, fewer links, fewer boxes are most user-friendly
Layout:
Default to side-navigation (most user-friendly)
Top- navigation isn’t prohibited, just not recommended for most guides
Change URLs to friendly/readable URLs
This is important for the main page and all sub-pages
Boxes: Default boxes: rounded, dark blue frame
Individual designer can change it to floating box (w/ out frame)
Profile boxes:
Profile boxes should go under the navigation section in the left-side column
For most NC AHEC level guides it is best to use a generic NC AHEC profile box (available to re-use in the Repository and/or template) rather than an individual’s profile box
Fonts (when creating Rich text/HTML content)
Use the default font heading size options (Heading 3; Heading 6; etc.)
Change font color sparingly – bold or italics are better options for emphasizing
Links
Use the Link feature rather than creating links in Rich text/HTML feature
The Link feature will create a url that is an asset which is preferable to creating a link to something in an Rich text/HTML feature.
Re-use links already in the system (from AtoZ, Assets etc. ) whenever possible
Create & use overarching boxes/widgets that can be re-used by other guides in the Repository guide
