Daily POEMs Alerts

Daily POEMs (Patient Oriented Evidence that Matters) email alerts from Essential Evidence Plus identify and summarize the most relevant research that may change medical practice. 

How to set up daily POEMs Alerts

1. Sign into your AHEC Digital Library account.
2. Go to database STAT!Ref Collection of Textbooks Stat!Ref via this ADL link https://library.ncahec.net/linkout.php?urlID=2000
   If you have UNC-Chapel Hill access to resources this alternate link can work https://library.ncahec.net/linkout.php?urlID=279
3. In TDSHealth set up your account by clicking Profile  
   
4. Then Register
5.  Then Login (located under Profile)

6. After logging in, click Welcome [your name]! and select Alerts

7. From STAT!Ref Alerts page scroll down and Enable Emails for new POEMs. Frequency of delivery can be Daily or Weekly.

IMPORTANT: 

• Before the POEMS summaries are accessible via the email alert one gets in their inbox, one has to authenticate to STAT! Ref Essential Evidence + (EE+) via the AHEC Digital Library (ADL). 
• EE+ is located in the ADL via this link. 
• Once authenticated to EE+ via AHEC proxy, then the link from the email message will take one to the POEMs summary.

Note: 

To get to the POEMS directly from Essential Evidence Plus (EE+) there are two options:

• Launch POEMS from the AHEC Digital Library via this link. 
• Launch EE+ from the AHEC Digital Library via this link and in the Table of Contents navigate to the POEMS

• Navigate the POEMs Table of Contents (ToC) in the left column
• See the Bottom Line & Synopsis for a quick overview of the reference
• Need to locate the full study?
  • Search for the reference in the AHEC Digital Library. 
  • Request the article via this form.
